Harold believed, as we still do today, that it should be as easy as possible for farmers to take grain to market. We believe it should be easy for all of our customers, in all of our markets, to do business with us. Diverse Business Units, a core AG focusToday we have more than 20 facilities throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Nebraska with a storage capacity of 107 million bushels. Our recent aquisitions of O'Malley Grain (food grade corn finishing) and B4 Grain are allowing us to extend our footprint not only into new geographies, but also into new markets as well. Our Commodity Risk Management department services the risk management and hedging needs for end-user suppliers through futures and options trading as well as through physical procurement and delivery of food grade corn and oats. Our investment in ethanol production is a natural extension of our agriculture business since the majority of the cost of ethanol is corn. We provide services to the ethanol industry through plant management, corn origination, and the marketing of distiller dried grains (DDGS) and ethanol marketing. Our core competencies in risk management can be extended to help optimize the return on ethanol investments. We are the largest equity investor in The Andersons Albion (Michigan) Ethanol, LLC and The Andersons Clymers (Indiana) Ethanol, LLC. The Andersons Marathon Ethanol, LLC, a 50/50 joint venture between The Andersons, Inc. and Marathon Petroleum Company LLC, (a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corporation) is located in Greenville (Ohio). These ethanol plants are strategically located near our existing grain facilities, and position us well to serve this industry. We originate corn for an ethanol facility in Rensselaer, Indiana, and have origination and/or marketing agreements in place at several ethanol facilities throughout the Midwest. The core grain handling business supplied the foundation for our fertilizer business. The Andersons Plant Nutrient Group formulates and distributes nearly one and a half million tons of dry and liquid plant nutrients every year. The fertilizer business parlayed from our history of grain originations, and today, works with a network of hundreds of dealers and distributors throughout the north eastern United States. Our farm centers offer an extensive menu of products and services that are vital to successful crop production. Our Risk-Management PhilosophyWe believe that having a proper risk-management strategy is essential to success in this industry, whether you are a producer, truck operator, or end-user. As markets become more volatile, a proper risk management strategy is essential for continued profitability. This is why we offer many different risk-management programs and solutions. AgVantage®, our in-house crop insurance agency offers grain customers ways to protect their farm against loss and enhance their marketing plans. The sales team is equipped to help producers more easily afford insurance through creative options and marketing strategies. Our portfolio of Freedom® Pricing Tools helps take some of the emotion out of grain marketing. By committing bushels to a pricing program, producers can focus on running their farm, and let us worry about the markets for them. We offer a range of fully automated tools, as well as tools managed by our expert commodity traders to enhance marketing portfolios.
